I think many of the cats have been rescued off the streets. The first cat he started training was performing on its own for people in Moscow who were feeding him.

You don't have to worry Andree,
Doing rescue work with abandoned animals, this is something I thought about myself during the performance.
The cats love what they were doing, and they love this man very much, if I felt otherwise I wouldn't be posting any of these.
Eyes were squeezed and after they finished their part, and they were smoozing with each other inbetween doing something.
In this particular scene the kitty was pretending to climb the wrong pole.
