Maureen and Ina: thank you; the coloured slats are broken glass, although I do not know why glass was there in the first place! And yes, locomotives somehow appeal morethan any other form of transportation - they are romantic, robust, beautiful and mighty.

And of course, I love it! For it has all my favorite ingredients: metal; rust; lots of bolts; traces of various liquids; an open window; stencilled numbers; cracked glass (or some crazy design); and it comes from a train! What more can you ask for? Think of all those people who worked to make it, to maintain it, and those who traveled in it. It's a thing of beauty.
