This is a picture of my Mother in-Law Returning to Ellis Island. She first arrived at Ellis Island in 1921 at the age of 13 she was teaveling with her brother age 15 (there parents were already in the US). Most of the time they were seperated dormitory style. She was frightend, only spoke Italian and hated the experience. When the wall of names was put up we had her name inscribed. With much reluctance we talked her into going back. She was delighted to see her name on the wall, and while showing us the room were she slept a crowd gatherd to listen to her story. She left that day with a much diffrent opnion of Ellis Island. Millie Caruso is shown with her son John and Daughter Jean (my wife)
