City - Limasol State - THE SOUTH OF THE ISLAND Country - Cyprus
About
You can really see the effect of the polariser on this shore shot - the image darkens to the right as more and more polarisation takes place.
I quite like the effect, but the jury's out in most books I've read on this...
This is taken from the pier near the old port of Limasol in Cyprus.
Had a great week there but nothing too spectacular with the camera, mainly because we didn't have a car (for many reasons, not least that I've lost my bleeding driving liscense) so were stranded in Limassol all the time.
Handy for bars though - which leads to reason 2 - constant hangover....
Hmm, anyway - got a few decent shots out of the 1200 I took.
I stupidly shot in JPG as I thought I'd run out of card space too - editing a JPG is a nightmare compared to a RAW. Huge regrets there too!!!!
No sympathy here Ade... You will go abusing your body and mind with excess quantities of alcohol! Also no sympathy since you had nice warm weather while it was chucking it down back here!
I quite like the effect of the polariser too, but as you say the jury is fairly undecided... Its most prominent with a wide angle lens too so I guess this was shot with the 15-30?
Love the perspectives on this and the leading diagonals that converge way off into the distance... nice textures on the foreshore too!
