A very thought provoking image you have here. I'm glad you gave us some details in your about. It really helps to understand the true nature of poverty.
Your vision is excellent. This image is excellent.

The photo & idea are very nice...especially the title is a bit shocking!!! people expect somehting like Poverty or Exclusion, rather than Ignorance...but based upon your "About", it goes with the photo....

Very nice work. A crop of the lit area at the bottom and then the whole image lightened some more. Try this in BW also.

abhra,
1st of all let me say; this is a Masterpiece my friend. I love the centering of the child, exposure is perfect, DOF is Awesome and the framing is excellent?
Secondly, you really shoot from the heart and your work captivates my heart for sure. This is a very sad shot indeed, but that?s what photography is about.
We must shoot, the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, the rich and the poor, need I say more?
In closing I must critique a couple of things:
You referred to the child, as ?his?, which implies the child is male. But the child?s toenails look like they are painted pink? Also the blue on the stairway is a bit blown out IMHO? Therefore I will give you my take on this wonderful capture my friend.
Well done indeed,
Martin

thank you very much for ur comment. basically thats the most preffered frame i got there in the position. the light was such in an angle, i couldn`t have done anything to keep the naturallity of the shot, but i am sure, that something better could have been done, thank you very much for your suggestion. i would like you to visit my other works and leave comments on them. abhra.

well, i really like this shot but there are a couple of things that bothers me- the kid is too centered for me and he is a bit under-exposed. thanks for your comments. Uri.

This theme of ignorance is also evident with the fact that the child is found within the darkness, while it is assumed the other kids are out in the light. A well thought out photo.
