This is a tremendous image of such a simple object. I have frequently tried to take this sort of shot of simple objects and surfaces and so I know that it is difficult to get one with such appeal, as you have here. The clarity and detail here is one important key, but also the color and regular pattern broken by the inverted letter "R" is another important element of this. There are a seemingly infinite way to shoot a suface/object such as this, and I feel you have chosen one of the best! Great composition and image crop/frame choices! Congrats! 7/7!

But Kathy, I know you agree that everyday things have fabulous appeal in photography, so long as we bring them into focus, as it were! Great picture, I love it to bits! I would add this to the "Beneath our Feet" category. As to the subject, um...a manhole cover?
