About Subject background: My tribute tour for my UF friends now becomes abstract - to be precise, it becomes black&white abstract. This one is for Verena Rentrop, the uncrowned queen of AAs (Awesome Abstracts). Check out her great portfolio.

http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/29491.html

For me, this looks like a human finger against the finger of a robot. the somehow grainy outcome is actually intended to give the image an analogue look.

PS concept: Mainly BW conversion. Framing.

Good choice of proportions as I see it. Could have used less of the element in the foreground but then we'd lose the sense of how it too curves down in front of us.

Hi Andre,

thanks a lot for your motivating words. Sometimes I try to make sense out of my life ;-) I've spent so many hours here getting feedback from others... why not spending some time for them?

Let's see how the other tribute shot will go. The picture for you is a heavy task ;-)

Take care, Thilo

Funny when I read your about because that's exactly what I saw when viewing the thumbnail.....the fingers of a robot void of any human feelings...mechanically gripping one's throat or arm and leaving you no room to negotiate....scary and great

Hi Thilo! Perfect composition; simple and very powerful ~ love the DOF! And ... Verena deserves nothing less than that!

Looking like the hands of the robot from The Day the Earth Stood Still. Interesting graphic abstract, Thilo. I like it because the eyes can wander between the two objects. Like the lighting, especially on the front finger.

This is an excellent capture Thilo, I like the composition allot, the DOFG makes it looks like two pictures in one, very well composed and captured,

Great idea Thilo.
And a very nice, unselfish idea for your project. Many people will try to copy a famous photographer's style and have fun and varying degrees of success doing it.
But to pay homage to your peers here at Usefilm is quite another thing. It's a great way to promote this site as a community.
I still remember how good I felt one day when you mentioned my name as a minor inspiration for one of your Holga shots of a Go-Kart. Recognition can be very encouraging.
Good luck with the rest of the project.
Andre

Yes, I can definitely see the flesh and the metal. Nice tones, angle and lighting, I like that you blurred the robots finger, giving more importance to the human finger, and for me it somehow adds a sense of reality to it as well, I think the analogue looks suits the image...nicely done Thilo...I converted mine to black and white, take a look when you get a chance...hugs...Linda

Du bist ein Schatz...

die Roboterhand war das erste was mir schon in klein aufgefallen ist...erinnert mich stark an Marvin und einen seiner depressiven Schübe...

es wird in Ehren gehalten...

liebe Grüße
Verena
