About This was converted from color to B/W, I upped the contrast and gave it a bit of a grainy look, which I like but what do you all think.?

A job very successful Alison, the grain makes a beautiful effect in this b/w! Bye Ale!

Hi Alison!
B/W is OK for me, contrast is OK, but I thin that grainy effect is not so proprer for this picture!
Anyway, good portrait!
Cheers,
Igor

Alison, it's great! Somehow, I think photos in B&W have that extra punch which colour cannot achieve or deliver.

Beautiful and 'soulful' portrait, Alison! I like the dramatic lighting the way it is - it brings out her features nicely!

I like the contrast, the dark shadows. They're particularly suited to her serious expression. I think flash fill would have washed it out and made it ordinary. As it is, it is exceptional.

I really like the grainy look here. Combined with the black and white it makes a wonderful and beautiful portrait Alison!

Bellísna foto Alison... Y tambén la modelo... Me encanta la luz iluminado un lado de su rostro... Y la sombra en el otro lado... Excelente en blanco y negro...

Saludos,

MaLuisa

excellent work Alison, i'm not a big supporter of grainy effects, but the final result is an enjoyable image indeed,...and furthermore, with such a model, you can't fail!
cheers, Giorgio

Very nicely done Alison, I like the carefree flow of Brielle's hair and her pose, the natural framing is really nice, she is very photogenic, I like the grain and the tones, and I agree with Roland about fill flash and Dave too, depending on the look you're after. How's that for riding the fence..hahaha...I'm good at that...Linda

A lovely portrait of Brielle, Alison! I like the look, b/w is an excellent choice here. I don't think the slight amount of softness hurts at all. Using flash to fill in the shadows would depend entirely on the mood you want to create with the shot, and I think the way you've done it creates a sense of drama and mystery that would be lost with more light.
Dave.

Thank you for your input Roland, I didn't even think about the flash, it probably would have been a good idea, I was taking the shots quickly so maybe I did move the camera a bit. Alison

Hello Alison, contrast looks good. Just an opinion, I would've used a flash to fill in the shadow portion on the right of her face, secondly image appears soft (Slight Camera Shake), not sure if that was the intention. Otherwise nice portrait, cheers.
