About Another image shot in RAW and converted to jpg. Used a tripod and camera was on the P setting and only thing done to this in PS was to crop out this small portion of a larger shot. This is a "happy accident" and while I am not a fan of impressionism - I really like this one and can "see" it as a large wall hanging over a white sofa. I haven't a clue as to what I did "wrong" but sure wish I could duplicate whatever I did. Oh well, I'll learn.

Thanks Nigel - Don P explained what happened - even tho camera was on a tripod this was caused by camera shake and to avoid/reduce I needed to use my mirror lock-up feature.

Fabric would be good - might even have seen some that looked like this. Will have to get in to my stash and check it out.

Thanks Susie - Don suggested it was probably camera shake - and even though I had it on a tripod that it probably wasn't sturdy enough and that I needed to do mirror lockup. Learning experience - with pretty results. Yes, was trying RAW which only works in the creative mode on my camera and have problems seeing well enough for getting a good focus - so that's part of the problem too. I need to get an adaptor for the viewfinder. Jan

Wow I'm dizzy, oh wait I was that way before. I too can see it as a giant wall hanging. Or take bits and pieces of fabric and sew them hodge podge all over just like this. Wonderful.

I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!

Very Van Gogh! This shot looks like a painting that someboody who had a lot of money would spend a fortune to buy!

I Love all the colors in this shot. I think this shot has a lot of eye appeal!

Congrats

Looks very much like camera shake (double images)
Use your mirror lockup and watch very close if your tripod shakes when the shutter closes. The mirror can cause a lot of shake and if the tripod is not strong enough it will shake the hold thing.
Good luck
Don

It does look like a painting Jan. What a happy accident! Did you just start shooting in RAW? I haven't ventured into those waters yet. I'm afraid to get my feet wet! :) Someday...
