About Been going through my Usefilm NOrthumberland shots chronologically this evening, got as far as Seahouses so far, so that's about 1/3 way....

This is oif course the angel of the north, I'd got lots of shots from the front but they were effectively silhouettes, so went around the back to get some light on the fins.

Really like the shadows and detail you get from those fins, and in this shot, all the components came together more than the rest of them - the kids playing to give scale, the exagarated angle of the 15mm lens, the light, the clouds and the lack of buildings on the horizon.

Still, there's been a million shots of this thing on here so wait till I put something more original up tomorrow :-)

Will post some more shots in the comments below so read on.

All great shots all very different - but equally special. SOrry you lost the auction Ade. I have got some good Angel of the North ones, with a whole weekend and so many great places we saw - it is hard to wade through them and decide which to load isn't it.

WOW super shot(s)!!!! Fabulous colors, great silhouettes, absolutely love the angle and excellent composition (and that's only the first upload.... ;-D)!!!! The seascapes are beautiful, the first one has great colors and reflections, the second one... love the filter effect, gives it a warm mood... and then the cherry on the cake... the night shot: Stunner, gorgeous colors, crystal clear crisp view, reflections and ab fab composition... what a treat... four for one!!!!

Crumbs Ade! Talk about a glut of pics!

Ok.... The Angel - Simply stunning... Love the silhouette and the skies are awesome! Such rich colours!!!

Bamburgh 1 - Nicely blurred shot of the water and awesome reflections. Could maybe do with something to give a better sense of scale though?

Bamburgh 2 - Ah... the tobacco filter surfaces again! Interesting shot with very blurred water. Good colours and the inclusion of the Farne islands is a good idea....

Quayside - Awesome... crisp, colourful and with bags of contrast too. The blacks are really inky... Best of the bunch in my view!

Cheers Den,

amazingly, this was handheld and had no filter on it at all!!!!

the beauty of a 15mm lens is that you can hand hold at slow speeds - right doown to about 1/30th second - without it blurring.

I think I will donate, just lost an auction on a top lens - put a bit of £800 up and got pipped in the last 2 secods, literlly. went for £811!

gutted.

Filters are something that initially amused me, added a bit opf spice to a photo trip. Something else to have a play with - that kind of thing. Then I realised taht you could get some really nice skies and water effects if you used them right. They are pretty easy once you've worked out what they do, that's the tricky part, but as they stop light getting in, the shutter speed goes up and you really do need a tripod or high ISO - and high ISO=grainy.

I'm working on Steve, gave him a grad on Sunday but it came back after 5 minutes with a puzzled looking bowden.... need to drum things in to him :-)

The combination of you and that lense (plus tripod of course) is awesome. You sure have brought out the enormity of this structure Ade.
Also I admire your knowledge and use of filters that change the mundane to extraordinary. Fantastic work mate.
You'll have to put your hand in your pocket to overcome the need to put shots in your comments. You'll get far more comments and stand more chance of awards that way. Any one of those you added are worthy.

This is a nice angle for the angel, Ade. Nice shot.

There may be other shots of the status, or even from the same angle, but the moment here is unique, and the inclusion of the people adds nicely to the sense of scale.

Great shot AdeIt always helps to have people in these shots just to give a sence of scale.
