Hi Bryan,
I came to your portfolio from a forum thread...this is such a cool image. I love how you presented this portrait. She's looks to be the exact opposite of uptight...so comfortable in her own skin. Good shot.

great work Brian. The simply style of your portraits works very good. It gives the person all the focus.

Thank you so, so, so much Giuliano. and thank you for the information on PMK. This is something I want to try with the landscape photographs. There is one photograph I want to make this winter but I need to intensify the light tones and also the edges between black and white tones. so I must experiment with this developer. I try with the Rollei films first :) too expensive with the chinese lover :)))))

Thank you "teacher of the week"

This series is really stunning.
I love these portraints of people in their "enviroment". You can feel the soul and the pride for their work.
The light in her face and the natural frame around her makes a perfect surround.
Proud to have you in my friend list ! :)

Bye

well the photos are quite therapeutic - just like you said. I was going to try and hold out posting anything from this project until it was complete buttttttttt it was nice to bury myself in negatives for a few hours :)) helps keep the mind in a different place for a while.

thank you for your unbelievably generous thoughts!!!!

it may appear to be a simple composition, but truly it is not. You did well with this one. :)

excellent Roger! I nearly forgot about these options. yes, you are right -- they are very good options. I also agree that MF and larger films have such a splendid quality. And I must thank another UseFilm user for turning me towards film last year "Andreas Hering".

oh Ann thank you so much. yes - 'centered' I wanted her in the center because she is 'centered' in life. Her and her husband have such a peaceful life because they live so close to the earth... that is also the reason for such a simple composition.

Bryan, you kindly expressed interest in my intention to get a PC lens for 6 x 6 SLR (or possibly a T&S lens after seeing what Guiliano did with his). I envy you your Rollie SLR, but it's quite out of my reach... lenses too, of course. I was thinking of an upgraded Kiev. The Araxfoto people offer a very good PC lens, and the Hartblei people have extended that to T&S... at a modest price. I admit the Chinese sheet film camera is a bargain, but 6 x 6 is as large (and heavy) as I want to go. I am no longer young, and have to consider weight...

Even at 800 pixels, I think I can see the difference that MF makes in your beautiful photographs, and I keep remembering 30 years ago when I took some of the best photographs of my life with a Mamiya C330 TLR.

This photo captures a very interesting lady in her natural setting. I look forward to seeing other photos of this series.

thank you Fabrice. for me, it is one of my favorites but I do not think this foto is good for the web. I believe it will be better in large print to show the detail of this wonderful and beautiful person!
