About
Taken on assignment today. No cropping involved. Only PS work are the BW tones. Other than that....straight from the camera.

Shutter 1/500 second
Aperture 5.6
Focal length 90mm
ISO 100

P.S. I know that most people would probably crop some of the area off the left of the image but I like it there. The sense of the players pushing against the right adds impact...!

Damn! What a great photo this is! And yes, I agree with you about the black area on the left... I guess this photo in a square format would loose impact... I think the title is great too. This photo, with this tile would be perfect for some kind of advertising... I like it a lot...

Awww thanks Barry I am pleased you like it. I wouldn't normally take the tones that dramatic but in this case I liked it.

Great image. The composition's perfect as far as I'm concerned. The space to the left reinforces the mad rush for the ball on the right. I might have left the sky a smidge lighter as the contrast between sky and cloud means the clouds draw a little too much attention away from the riders but it's a minor point in a great shot.

Hi Judi .. It?s really a challenge to photograph people practising sports! You did it: the faces, the movements, background & appropriate lights: everything is in there! ~;-) Dri

You implement your personal preferences despite possible critique and achive the results you like and so do I. I've put this photo among my favorites not just as I think you're right in doing so, but because I like the result.
Thank you for your kind comments on my "Tutta" and "Crisscross." I'm sorry you didn't like my "Pretty waitress II" and although I did like it the way I posted it, I'll attach the original photo. As you mentioned once: differences of opinions make the world go round, or words to that effect.
Best regards,
Rafi

No cropping needed, Judi. The composition is beautifully balanced. I don't know what the game is but there seems to be a lot of spirit shown by the people involved. The low perspective is very good. Best regards, Larry.

hi Judi, I wouldn't crop and would'nt change levels, this really carries across the energy of the game and solidly freezes the moment. After reading the comments the title applies also to your final goal for the image.

I wouldn't crop anything. It is perfect as is. I like the strong tones of this image. It goes nicely with the message of "Fight for your goals."

Petal Wijnen Petal Wijnen   {K:50989} 7/31/2005
Wonderful action shot!!! Super tones, sky and expressions.... excellent composiition... well captured!!! Leaving that space on the left is great... otherwise they would be 'boxed in' and now they got some room to move...!!! BTW what kind of sport is it anyway... looks like lacrosse on horseback.... never saw I before...

Hahahaha....wrong, wrong, wrong...!

I simply used a filter from a plug in. You should know I wouldn't push the levels this far and I wouldn't normally finish an image with such extremes....but in this case it really appealed to me.

You once told me to go with what I feel.

I did.

Nice conversion to black and white Judi - darkening the sky (I guess you used the channel mixer and removed the blue?) has really added o the impact of the shot. I think you're probably right bout the composition too. Great shot.
