About
Taken with a digital. The scene completely defeated the autofocus. More interestingly, the lack of sharpness was NOT apparent in the little window-thingy at the back. It wasn't until I downloaded the images and looked at them full-sized on my computer that this became obvious. So in this respect, the much-touted ability of a digital camera to allow one to look at a photograph in advance and decide whether or not to re-shoot was rendered completely irrelevant. So I think I'll grab my film camera next time.
I don't know if this was camera shake or focus error, though nothing at all in the image is sharp. Excellent cropping. I agree, with my geriatric eyes the little LCD screen is only good for the histogram. A brilliant family photo, nonetheless. Not long ago my daughter looked like this! Now she has my film camera 1200 miles away so I play digital by default. Hello fellow prairie-dweller.
I notice a lot of blurry digital shots that aren't obvious in the preview window. The trick is to get rid of the "film is expensive" mentality that hangs at the back of your mind and take *5* shots of the kid in the bathtub! One is bound to turn out.
