About The Grand Canyon skyline provides myriad opportunities for any cameraperson to do their thang. This was taken in late afternoon and shows the effects of controlled vegetation burning happening all over AZ during this time.

This shot reminds always brings Geertz' "layers upon layers of meaning" to my mind.

If you know what musical I'm quoting with the title, I'm not sure if I feel worse for you that you recognized it, or for me that I know it so well as to have quoted it!! ;)

I remember now--I saw Brigadoon many years. I don't rememebr it being terribly painful; but then I don't remember it very well. I suppose, that in itself says something.
Take care, Mary

Heya- stop dropping names =) i really like this picture. The way the rock transitions from dark to light in layers is really eye catching.

Hello again. Yep, I'm new and have really enjoyed my four+ days on Usefilm. My brother (Ben Trumbull) has been on it for some time, so after browsing through his stuff I decided to enter too. I really like this Grand Canyon pic too, especially since I don't often see those must-take moments. I'm learning though!

The musical is "Brigadoon" and I'm relieved for your sake if you don't know it! It's quite the painful musical to sit through...

Hi Alex. I just noticed that you are new to UF. Welcome. It is a great place. I have learned a lot grom comments andn suggestions from some wonderful people here.
The different levels of hills and subtle tones of this are lovely. It is really not unlike my Madawaska Mist picture that you commented on.
(I don't recognize the musical.)
