I really enjoy the softer lighting in this Paul... works very well with the background. Much smoother than I would expect at ISO 800.

Yes Paul, this is the color tones exactly what i'm searching for my portraits,very beautiful color tones (Purble color), i'v tried too much to reach such colors,i've same as your camera and allot of CANON lenses,and by PS, i reached to similar dergree but not exacly,so can you help me on this...

Interesting that you should choose Herr Helmut as an example, as Heather has done more than one shoot for Vogue. She's married to one of our top-gun programmers now. ;)
Um, yeah, I certainly DO have aspirations for my images. Step one is to have my own exhibit, instead of having a photo or two hanging with dozens of other entries. Step two is to figure out how to make a living in photography without descending into the 'Olan Mills' portrait/wedding hell.
