Willem, it's just a fun little toy for your DSLR. Short ad (from the web site): "Lensbabies bring one area of your photo into sharp focus, and you can move that ?sweet spot? of focus around the picture by bending the flexible lens tubing. You will get a unique new look, with gorgeous blurring, glowing highlights, and subtle, prismatic color distortions, all without software manipulations." The web site is at http://www.lensbabies.com/. It's nice to get some of these special effects without doing them all at the computer..;)

What was on my mind, hmmm....Actually, not much I'd have to say! I recently read one of those Tao of Photography books and somewhat in line with the ideas it contained, I was trying to respond to my surroundings without exerting too much conscious control. This post/pole came into my purview while I had the lensbaby on the camera and it actually appealed to my visual sense even though it's obviously pretty "pedestrian" from a content standpoint. Some of the pioneers of creative photography say it's not WHAT you take pictures of but HOW you take them. It's an interesting challenge to take a common object and make it into something more by taking an uncommon perspective..;) (Hmm..maybe I put this under the wrong project...)

Nice shot Michael. What is a lensbaby? Haven't heard of that one before.

hm what was on your mind when you took this photo? :-)
did you get the lensbaby just recently? I don't use it as much as I tought I would (hard to focus with kids running around) but I always like the effect.

excellent, excellent, excellent use of the lens baby... nice tones and selective focus. I just got the wide angle lens baby attachment.... hmmm... looks a little funky...
