Thanks Margaret - I have to practice hard and learn to use this properly so I don't disappoint Rob or me...Just wish the temperature here wasn't 112-117+ Just too hot to get out and look for some good photo ops. Jan

Ciao Janice,
congratulations for your new camera and lens in my opinion this equipment is the most desirable for any photographer medium-high level.
In my experience too much love for the subject we are shooting does not help the desirable result because our brain judges an image in terms of sharpness, colors, shape, contrast and composition. So, if an abstract has all this mentioned values for our brain the abstract is much better than a monochrome flower even if it is the most we love.
Ciao Janice , a presto!
Francesco

Thanks Don for your comment. The lens choice is mind-boggeling (sp?) and the prices are even more so. I know I do enjoy taking floral macros, so will just have to research and see who is using what on their shots and hopefully finding photographers who have this camera and "picking their brains" on what they are using and why, etc. Jan

Hi Janice, this should be a great camera for you. The 18-55 should be a great landscape lens. There are several great macro lens out there. Everyone has their own taste for length and maker. This picture is lovely with nice lighting for this subject. Don.
