Thanks Subhash,
I will have to start training my brain to think that way in those situations. I suppose it is easier to manipulate the under-exposed areas in PS afterward than to try and find something that isn't there in an over exposed bloom. Also a lot of the time, a dark background is flattering to the photo.

Dear Andre can i make a suggestion ,next time you click this go 1 to 2 stops under ,you will see the diff,as a matter of fact do it for most of the florals your colours will be more saturated ,cheers,subhash.

Hi Subhash,
Nice shot of the yellow water lily. We have a lot of them near us. Unlike your shot, I always seem to have a little trouble with glare on the bright yellow petals. Next time I will try different exposures.
