The "dance" of the Whirling Dervishes is called Sema. Sema is a part of the inspiration of Mevlana (who was a philosopher and whose doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love) as well as part of the Turkish custom, history, beliefs and culture. In Mevlana?s doctrine; man is the possessor of a mind and intelligence which distinguishes him from and makes him superior to other beings. Thus the "Whirling Dervish" or Semazen causes the mind to participate in the shared similarity and revolution of all other beings..
the moment you captured is just great - especially the pose of the dancer coresponding to the background sculpture on the wall; well done, excellent work regards Lukasz
This is an excellent shot that has life thru the motion of the costume and the arms and hands; the inclusion of the musicians makes the store complete as without them it would make little sense what the man is doing. Well done...
