Moenkopi... A Hopi Indian village built on a rise above Moenkopi Wash. It has been here for quite some time... maybe 200 years. Although this may seem to be a long time, there are places on their reservation that have been continuously inhabited for over 700 years. Their fields cover the floor of the wash, where there is adequate underground water. I shot this in the brutal sun of midday only because that's when I was there. During the golden hours, the colors take on magical properties. No filter, no PS except for cropping. A number of my high school friends still live here. Camera in aperture priority mode.
