I love the indipendent staytment of little girl and it simes that, what she is thinking is a abruptly thing, like she never has been suspected on it.
Very fine shot.
take care!

No worries - I accept all commentary and criticism gratefully. And of course the point about focussing on the subject and missing details is very well taken. I think one of the most important things I have (hopefully) learned is to really look at everything in the viewfinder before hitting the shutter.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon,
It was really pretty petty of me to point it out actually. Sometimes I read comments similar to the one that I wrote on your image and I think to myself,,, what an a-hole that guy is for writing that.
I know exactly why you missed it too. We all do it. We are so focused on getting the main subject exactly right, that we subconciously ignore other aspects of the image. Then someone new to the image comes along and all of a sudden they say, "what about that blemish?" And you wonder how you missed it. It happens all the time with beginners shooting nudes. Photographers become mesmerized by the subject and then come back to the photo a couple of days later and see all kinds of unwanted junk in the background.

Interestingly, I never noticed that odd mark in the top corner before. I'll have to have a look at the negative again. Thanks for the comment.

cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon,
This is a very nice portrait, Original, natural pose. I like the kind of the grain that you can get from scanned negatives or prints.

There is one thing. In the top right of the screen there are what seem to be two thin, light ameoba shaped lines. (probably watermarks on the negative) You could easily blend this and any other physical imperfections using the smudge tool in Photoshop, or other software.
