About Not sure I like my outside (whitish) border effect. But I was trying to highlight the beauty of the center part of the cone flower and tried to enhance it more with the effect.

I apologize to all for mot being a very good participent lately. We have gotten into the busy season of the restaurant and I barely have time to take pictures. I will do the best I can when I can and I hope all understand.

I understand the lack of time. I think we are all experiencing that at the moment. But you have managed to produce a beauty with this one. Well done...Now go and make me a hot chocolate full of marshmallows and meet me on the deck for a breather.

Very nice shot of the sharp end of a cone flower, Jim. Great color. I think that the border effect probably detracts from the image, Jim. The lighter color seems to draw my eye. Fool around with it :-) All and all it's a beautiful image. Best regards, Larry

Hi James what wonderful details and colours, I real pin cushion look to it - excellent. 7 As for the frame how about going to a pale one with a shadow that brings the flower forward - see what you think to this one.
I guess you will be busy for some time to come as well - nice that you drop by when you can - I seem to onlyhave time - now and then - take care
Margaret

Thank you Mary for the nice critique. Has to be one of the better ones I've seen in awhile. I enjoy a comment like yours a whole lot better then "Great floral Jim, Good work;)It helps me think more about the picture when things are pointed out.

Thanks again:)

This is lovely, James. You made a good choice to highlight the center of the cone flower since that is where the main interest is. You achieved amazing sharpness exactly where it is important. I like the diagonal feel that you chose. While there is enough directionality to make the image dynamic, it doesn't overwhelm the viewer.

Nice work!

I think you emphasize the center of the flower in the right and nice manner
