About This image was made up of two RAW images taken at different exposure settings at the same location but 20 seconds apart. I specifically focused for the sky in one image and then the water and rocks in the other. I really liked how I was able to see right into the water as well as capturing all the other elements in the image.

I have attached the EXIF information below for both images.

The sun was setting 90 degrees to me as you can see by the glare across the rocks whilst the sky in front of me still shone for the day. Which meant I got good reflections in the water.

Enjoy!

Thanks Nour. I didn't throw anything in the water...it was just the breeze skimming across the surface that caused that effect.

what i like here is something totally diffirent than the wonderful focus and the superb lighting, i like especially the form of the curved ripples of the water with the curved natural form of the rocks, which means that the direction of the wind was just right for the composition, or maybe you threw a stone in the water Lol

Wonderful, Judi! Some day I'll have to learn how to combine images. The seeing into the water is great as are the reflections. Superb.

Thanks for the upload...I think I only have 2 more images to go. I suppose I had better work those ones out soon.

Yes, I did use a polarizer for this one buddy. Hey did you get my latest submission, Sunset Garden. I didn't hear back from you and am wondering if it went through?

Alastair Bell   {K:29571} 6/19/2005
Great landscape (lakescape?) Judi. You really have caught all the elements of this very very well. The reflections are good and bright but not at the expense of losing the foreground transparency. Did you use a polariser on this at all?

Well done...

Yes, the rocks are bright...but if you ever came out here and just sat and watched the rocks during the sunset...they absorb the colours and change from reds/yellows/pinks. You can never be sure what colour they are going to be.

WOW, the first thing that impressed me was being able to see the rocks in the water, and that contrasted with the sky reflecting in the water is amazing, and then the rest of it, it's just incredible Judi, you are so talented..The rocks are wonderfully illuminated and beautifully colored and the drama in the sky, it's really like so many images in one and so wonderfully done. Brilliant composition....I love all of your work but these sunsets are just amazing...:):)Linda

Excellent work Judi. Love the colors and being able to see through the water is great! I do think some parts of the rocks are a bit too bright - however it does show a good contrast between the different colors. Again, great work!

Thanks Bryan. The F828 has a fixed lens...18-200mm. But the wide angle really does work well at times. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Yes...even though you can see the scene with the naked eye...sometimes the camera is fooled into reading it differently...and this is one way of overcoming it.

Now Please Stop uploading such truly magnificent shots....!!! I really can't come up with anything original to say (type... ;-D) anymore and WOW about covers it but.... well it isn't the most elaborate and accurate thing to say now is it....!!!! Everything is WOW again... colors, angle, composition, the fact that you can see the rock in the water.... well done!!! There's one thing I'd like to know though.... you say that you made this shot out of two... how do you achieve this 'seemless' blending....??!!
