About This was done in camera using a totally stopped down lens with a 3 second exposure. The camera was moved vertically from bottom up to create this spirit of aspen effect. This works on film and now I know it can be done digitally.

Hi Tim - Thanks for your supportive comments on this image. To answer your question, no tripod was used. This was all handheld based on previsualization and knowing in my minds eye what I wanted. The real advantage here is that I know immediately whether I am successful or not with a digital capture. I have several other variations using the same process that I will post soon. Stayed tuned.

Cheers and Regards - Bill

Hi Bill,
I LOVE THIS!
How original, at least for me it is! I've not seen anything quite like this one.

Nice colors and wonderful natural abstract!
Good job,
Lori :)

Stunning. A cool, Scandinavian image compared to the Mediterranean maple fire of earlier compositions. Did you use a special head to control horizontal movement over the 3 seconds of vertical pan? I know virtually nothing about tripoding. Great work, Bill.
