Thank you for the feedback and encouragement angelo!
I see where your coming from, it needs a starting and ending points a main element to focus on!
Next time I?ll focus on texture
Thank you for passing by and for your excellent critique! :)

dear Margate thank you for taking the time to represent your idea in the edit!
I actually kept all of the comment is mind when looking for a new abstract around the house! After reading your comment I looked for colors, saeeds for composition and the others for the connection between negative and positive space!
So thank you!

Well, it's abstract in so far as I have no clue what it is.

I think if I had a tip with abstracts, is to try and make the shape formed an interesting one. Is it the texture, the juxtaposition with another shape, the lines in it... something to hold the attention.

I'm not too hot on this one, Arwa. But if the rest of your work is anything to go by, you'll soon have this thing mastered.

hello thilo
It just lacks structure doesn?t it?
the negative space dominates the image!
thank you for your feedback my friend :)

arwa I have read the comments and agree it is a great start, but I also agree bit too much 'space' I have had a play with a crop and being as I tend to be into colour more than BW etc done a jazz up - see if you like - just a bit of fun - but hope it gives you ideas
Margaret

its very nice Arwa.. maybe next time u can look for more close elemnts coz i feel like the empty space is very large.. but over all its avery nice abstract.. keep up

I have to mentioned a rule of thumb for abstract even I do not shoot much, but abstract is carried and respect the same way as other image does, for any work of photography it is like a composer who has to arrange a piece of music, so deciding which instruments will work together which sounds flow and which clash.
So does the photographer in constructing powerful images, playing tricks to get the message across in a single frame. You have to have a focal point or a strong attraction by smart cropping to activate the empty space. If you have an abstract combined of shapes as your image here, the most active shapes are diagonal lines, it can be three sides or for sides or even combining circles, curved lines with straight ones produces great tension. If you feel that your image needs strong graphic element then it?s either not strong enough subject or need different cropping. Saeed

Ok, it's 2 vents and a water spout for fire - am I right? I love the challenge of abstracts. Great work on this Arwa, I am in the same boat.

Nice trial Arwa... I like a lot abstract shots.
Without trials one can never be expert.
Me too as Thilo said, I feel that the elements needed to be closer.... Well done Arwa, bye,
Khaled.

Hi Arwa,

I would say: Test succeeded =)

I'm not the abstract master, so I'm probably not the right person to judge. But for me, the elements should be a bit more closer (if you know what I mean). There is a bit too much room for me.

anyway, good test.

best wishes, Thilo
