Thanks Carsten. It's quite a dramatic change and provides a very different feel. I think it's a bit claustrophobic compared with the airy original.

Definitively worth the wet feet ;-) I just tried out how it looks with a (digital) ND extra stop, and rescanned in level. Superb picture !

A really beautiful image. I see that you use a digital camera for your astrophotography, but prefer to use a very unusual tool for your landscapes--a rangefinder camera, medium format, and slide film! The 800 pixel limit is a shame... hardly enough to show the legendary quality of those Mamiya lenses.

This one would have to be my favourite of the three. Perfection.

Kim, you're right. I obviously didn't have the film in the film holder quite straight when I scanned it - I'll sort it out! I use a spirit level on the camera but getting roll-film totally straight in the scanner is tricky.

Sion, I think you're probably right. I'd spot metered on the water in the middle distance and on the sky and worked out I needed a 2 stop ND grad but I hadn't noticed how much darker it was in the foreground. It's always a challenge trying to take in everything when you're working quite fast to capture rapidly changing light at dawn and you're up to your ankles in very cold lake water!

The blue tones are so peaceful and calming... I love how smooth the water is, perfect for reflections. The horizon seems a bit tilted to the right though... I could understand some tilting with an extreme wide angle, so I'm thinking it just needs to be straighten in PS a little.

This is so beautiful - and mystical - the 2 rocks sitting together for eternity in a heavenly setting. Or is it Nirvana?
Just has a very spiritual, uplifting quality.
Cheers, Leora

nice balance in the image although maybe would have been interesting to compare this one with a 4 stop grad filter to see what exposing the foreground a little more to see more detail in the stones would have looked like? just an idea, maybe it would have sucked anyway, sion .

All-blue makes this very special. A gift for all of us who do not have the opportunity to see this first hand. I really hope you are not posting this with hopes of getting constructive critique on how to improve on it :-)
