I agree with you!
As I told Laurie .. I should have used a smaller aperture to bring the petals in focus as the use of extension tubes makes the DOF extremely shallow!
Moreover, this flower in less than an inch in size, and at this much of magnification preventing camera shake is a big challenge! That's why I went for an ISO speed of 400 and 1/2000 sec. of shutter speed.

I think it wasn't a very successful choice of aperture size though!
It's nicely blurred the background, however, it's too shallow for the flower petals as I focused on the protruding core of the flower. The use of the extension tubes makes the DOF really shallow!
