About	Location: Mountain Zebra NP, South Africa Date: 19 Mar 2005 Capture: Canon EOS-1D Mk II, EF 500 f4L IS with EF 1.4x II, 1/500, f5.6, ISO 400 (The teleconverter was ?permanently attached? to the body to keep dust out when changing between the 120-300 and 500.) This species is endangered, and probably the rarest antelope in the world with only about 15,000 surviving, all of which are in protected reserves. They?re extinct in the wild. The ?dirt? on his nose is from secretions from his preorbital glands which he uses to mark his territory.
