Hungry,Homeless, & Naked. To this day over 5 months after I photographed this little boy it remains etched in my mind, I was told though that he's availing the government's feeding program of Lugaw (Rice Porridge), barely enough to get by the day. Believe it or not naked children are commonsite in this part of town scavenging for food & money. I've witnessed poverty even in the US however the level does not compare to a third world country, & it does not get any lower than this, I only hope for a better future for him. This is a reminder of the little things I must be thankful for such as shelter, food in the table, clothes to wear, money to spend, an education, etc etc. Sad reality is some people are unfortunate not to even have the most BASIC OF NEEDS.
I feel ya man. I?ve been to Jamaica twice, which is a lot like this photo and I only took pictures of the nicer things regarding that country.
You have captured the ugly part of human existence upon this earth, which most of us block from our minds. Thank you for reminding me that photography is about all things, not just the pleasant things.
You have taught me once again to open up my heart and my mind before I fire the 1st shot?
