About Keeping in with the theme of Steve, Andy and my photo & pub fascination, here's a shot we took about 10 minutes before going to the Palace for a lovely real ale (or coke in Steve's case).

It's taken virtually beneath Crown Point Bridge, the one which Steve's posted called "Under the Bridge" and is looking towards the city centre.

The big building in the background is that new hotel next to the train station to give it context.

Just been going through a few of my favourite shots from April 2005 and have made a little gallery/exhibition of them.

If you get time, take a look here :-)

HI Sally,

Thanks for the kind comment, I like the flash lit tree one especially too - was one of those experiments that went well!!

As for getting the image on to one screen, that's down to your computer's monitor settings. If you do the following you may be able to get it one one screen, but it will look smaller...

1 Right click on your desk top
2 select "Properties" from the list that pops up
3 click on the right most tab, settings
4 There's a slider there, if it's not at it's right most setting, then you can move it to the right - this increases the screen resolution so there's more info available and hopefully you can see the whole shot.

It may ask you to do a test, do that test - it'll try a new resolution for you then ask if it's ok or not. If you can see the screen ok, you can click "Yes".

Bingo

Good luck

Ade

Just had a little look at your gallery - I particularly like the 'flash lit tree' and 'hot air' - can you make the picture window bigger so that you see more of the image - rather than having to scroll up and down it?

"Pub fascination" ?? Wow now that is the understatement of the week ;-)

Ade, this has come out excellent.

Wonderful mood and the detail is super. This must have been taken before you had a beer lol

Best wishes,
Steve

Cheers Chris - it's a decent spot for a city centre, though probably a bit lonesome at night!

This one had one of those grad filters on, the dark bit went diagonally following the line of the flats on the right hand side - just to keep the sky from burning. I had to dodge the trees to the left an awful lot to get them from black to green again.

Quite a few down there have taken on a painterly look, not sure why? I shoot in RAW then sometimes up the temperature in the RAW editor - gives a lovely summer feel, could be that?

Super shot, Ade! It has a real 'arty' feel to it ~ like it was one of those very precise water colours.
Excellent composition and a well-balanced exposure.
Best regards, Chris
P.S. Thank you for your kind comments! Much appreciated.
