Ah, I like this flower photo as the bright colour stands out from the somewhat dull background. And your terrific zoom lens did played it's part splendidly.

Woohoo - first picture with the new camera! Looks good, Alison! The colors in this flower are amazing, and the DOF looks good, too. It would appear that the issues with the 'purple fringing' in the really bright spots has been fixed with this camera over the Z1.

A magnificent macro. Beautiful details, and I love the spots of sunlight in the background. I hope your new camera allows you to express your vision even better than before. It's a joy to look at your pictures again.

I prefere this depth Alison, it makes the texture of the flower to be more apparent. Congrats for the new Minolta Camera :0) Regards, Khaled.

Congrats for the new camera, dear Alison. I'm familiar with the excitement it may create, albeit I don't intend to exchange my Fuji Finepix S7000 unless a breakthrough in digital photography, one I can afford, comes along. The orange in your "glory" photo amost glows, as its name seems to indicate. I think that taken agains a strong light source, such as sunlight or a ring-flash, it would really glow and become translucent. See my "In Monet's garden 3" which was taken agains the sun as I had no ring-flsh at the time I took that photo. (http://www.usefilm.com/image/801936.html) Thank you for your very generous, detailed comment on my "In Monet's garden 4." Best regards, Rafi
