walking in loveland pass at 5:00 AM relaxing. taking photos of this group of trees high above the tree line, yestarday 5-21-05 an avalanche happened at Abasin killing a 54 year old boulder resident, it happened to the right of palavachini the steapest slope in north america, the avalanche was in bounds, people on the lift say boulders of snow the size of houses crashing down the slope. in picutres the avalanche goes from top to bottom taking out trees and anything in its path, saturday today i decided not to head into the backcountry to build kickers off the cornaces at loveland pass, its really warm and there is very heavy snow under every cornace out there...
