About This is probably not as big as you might think...It's astonishing how much we rely on comparative images to create a real sense of proportion...

Taken at Wat Phra Phrom in the north of Chiang Mai Province.

Thanks for the kind comments, Teresa. I have been lucky, yes; though there's a downside to everything, I wouldn't have changed it...

Best wishes

Len

Betty, I must ask someone about the 'stone' - it's not the only one I've seen (though I remember another one as being green - rather like jade, or an imitation of it - so the colour can't be important).

Look forward to seeing more postings from you.

Hi, Dave - Thanks for the comment. You can get a good idea of the size by looking at the companion pieces (such as 'In Proportion'). If I had the software, I'd mount 3 in a row, but that might ruin the point of this first posting!

Len: the details are great and the captured well done. What is the white stone on the legs of the statue?
THanks for your kind comment to my first pic

Hi Len. Very nice pic. An interesting play on perspective and proportions. At a first, careless viewing, it looks like those are real elephants, making the statue absolutely humongous.

You have captured this very well.

Thank you for your kind comment.

You've captured some very good detail and colours here, Len! Just how big is it?
Thanks for your comments!
Dave.
