Hi Roger! Yeah, the skies over there are still pretty much like this. Except the few times during the year when the winds blow from the south and bring all the dust and smog in from the Phoenix area.

Sorry! This particular formation reminded me of one in Canyonlands or Arches, can't remember which. I'll look for the photos I've taken there... Thanks for your trouble!

Hi Luka - No, this is not anywhere near Arches NP or Monument Valley. This is approx. 95 miles north of Phoenix. Arches and Monument Valley are another 200+ miles north.

Hi Pat - Thanks for looking at my photo. You are absolutely correct about the sloping foreground. It slopes because that's the way the land is. There isn't much level land in that part of Arizona.

Was that shot by any chance taken somewhere near Canyonlands or Arches national parks?

Interesting formation, yes I have seen it before. I can imagine Clint Eastwood riding across the scene.. The horizon is not level, did you notice?

I was fortunate enough to have been able to travel to Sedona about two years ago. I understand what you mean about having the place remained obscured. It would have been wonderful to keep it as it was when you were growing up, but unfortunately many lands have been discovered in many places on this planet. Sedona is one of my favorite places - I'm glad I got to experience it when I did.
