Truly. You've captured a very strong emotional moment here, Arwa. Her smile is priceless and relieving. The use of wide angle somehow emphasize the intimacy between she and you. Very well done, congratulations!

Hello;

I remember her from when you gave her that Kit Kat bar (?). A good b&w photograph will intensify the joy, not eradicate it. A good b&w photograph distills the essence of the moment, and this one does both. Also I like the toning, almost gold. Excellent work!

What a wonderful smile and perspective. Very extra ordinary children photography. Specially like the way her eyes are lit up, they compliment her smile so wonderfully. Is that the photographer reflected in the eyes?

I love each of them and I honestly think you could go either way. The joy is still present in each version and both are simply fantastic. You really know how work with that fisheye. :)

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 5/15/2005
I just love this little girl's expression, and the twinkle in here eye! I think the original of this was the first photo of yours that I commented on - a wonderful image! I have to say that I prefer the original, though. While this is nice, too, I think it's a bit too dark - both literally and in mood - and does somewhat contradict the joy in her face. A worthy experiment, though! :)

Riccardo Corsini   {K:17796} 5/15/2005
Arwa, these are the portraits what prefer, not conventional, out of all the schemes, the most beautiful, compliment! !

Hi Arwa,
Also in B&W it's perfect! It's what david says: "Removing the colour could never take away the joy in this face".
Take care!

Great image.. I like this image a lot.. and the color version is great also..but I am not sure about the tones.. a more pure b&w may work better than a sepia/antique look.. but having said that... this is an excellent capture and the title says it all....I keep looking at the girl's face and smiling..great work

Kelly    {K:20268} 5/15/2005

Very beautiful in BW too Arwa, I think there's more concentration on her face in this one, but I will vote for the color one, more happy :)
