About Hi All, I am still alive but strangled with work for a couple more weeks. I have an Environmental Audit next week , then the following week have to do Annual Safety Training for the whole plant, about 7 ,3 hour sessions the last ending on day 2 at 2:30 am. So just though I'd post a quick shot and run.
On my way to my Sons Birthday Party, I had 4 hours to drive all myt favorite back roads. This road is WAY OUT THERE !!
one lane and remote. a family moved back here 25 years ago to establish a commune. the animals came with. These are 2 of the Free Range horses they have. How they keep from being killed by the wolves , I will never know. Moose and Wolves abound here, and these critters just roam at will. I have seen the cows at least 8 miles from the homestead.
I spent about 1/2 hour photographing these two. one shot filled the frame of the little Canon Pro1 at 28MM. I kept shooting till I could smell them !
Then I petted them. When I got back in the van and left they followed, so I went around the corner, set up and shot a series coming down the road.

They were hoping for a carrot or an apple or maybe they were just lonely? Very nice scene and I like your choice for b&w. It really makes that triangle of white on the forehead jump out but adds a distinctive quality too.

This is a great shot! Love the straight on vantage point you've chosen. The soft trees frame things nicely too!!

Hey Jim, that's a real cool About. It just couldn't happen over here, we ain't got that much space. Good to hear from and nice to see you finding a place to do a bit of chilling.
Take care.

Good to see another Christensen upload, Jim!
Nice shot of these jet black horses. The 20D did well to keep a little detail with such a range of tones.
Best regards, Chris

That is lovely Jim, sounds like you had a great time, and a bit of relaxing in the middle of your hectic time. [Did you make the party LOL - sounds like you spent a fair bit of time with these lovely horses] Take care

This is wonderful, Jim-- you caught them perfectly, great exposure-- I can see all of the details-- hard with a dark animal with so much light from the road. love the b&w tones.
