Luis, thanks for stopping by. the tones were done in PS 1. convert ot a greyscale 2. Image>Mode>Duatone>Quadtone 3. in quadtone use: Black PANTONE DS 311-9 C PANTONE DS 10-9 C PANTONE DS 57-9 C or something like that (need to play around depending on the monitor display temperature). conversion to Save-for-web kills some of the toning, but sometimes does it with an unexpected and interesting result.

So simple but how come I didn't think of it? How do you work those tones in (almost sepia)? I like the one with the foot. Those tones are even better

thanks, Tiro. this is a rare stain of mushroom - fingus solitarius. all others live in big groups in cardboard boxes. they cling to each other in a harsh supermarket environment and are ruthlessly hunted by unscrupulous consumers.

Uri & CA, thanks for commenting.
CA: "a brain" is an interesting association. certainly doesn't look like a human or primate brain (trust me). but may indeed resemble a smooth rodent brain. i like your macros.nice portfolio.
