Harmen, no I didn't hear about it. I'll look at interened, download and try it. My RawShooter is in trial period right now and soon I'll need to buy it if I don't find better one. Capture 1 must be great one also, someone told me, but also cost.
Thanks for a tip!

Beautiful colours! I like the long exposure effect.

By the way, did you hear of DCRaw ?
It is a freely available RAW converter, apparently better than the one in Dimage Viewer.

Elena, It was my first try with RAW format. I downloaded Pixmantec RawShooter trial version and tried it. With long time exposures, or images shot in low light conditions RAW + this software is capable to retrieve details without creating digital noise. Hue variations of same image are amazing. It's same as shoting same subject with different films: Provia 100, Velvia 50, Kodachrome.

My new camera have RAW+JPG option of saving images. JPG is one time creation. Processing RAW is like scanning slide multiple times with different settings of scanner.

Stan, do you mean RAW work better? I never use RAW, I was trying it one time and didn't find difference, only slow work and spend more prace.
What advantage do you see with RAW?

Hi Elena! Yes, it's Virginia side of Great Falls looking down stream. I was before there at the same time with Olympus camera and remembered it as one of most spectacular compositions with river sunrises because of river direction toward actual sunrise.
I went there with my new DSLR to test it and tried RAW format for the first time as well. What a hell with this RAW, It's like a having full bag of different films with you in addition to personal photolab-Adobe!!!!!! I was real "donkey" not shoting RAW from the beginning and my during recent Florida Vacation.... :))
How are you doing? Plans to visit Washington DC?
