Arwa... Thank you my friend and college :)
Your comment makes happy as well...
You know what surprise me the most that I was never expecting to win these 2 awards (Staff's Choice and Featured critique)...
I was risking my digital camera under the rain for this photo... :) since the water will harm the digital circuit in the camera...

Thanx to usefilm and the members here...

You all make me happy and content.....

outstanding shot, latif. the wait certainly paid off. the best days are those where mother nature rewards your patience with a view like this. great work. i am curious though: how dark was it? i see you used a 30sec. exposure. i assume that the intent was to set off a fairly long exposure to maximize the chances of catching a strike. i've done this before but it was completely dark (midnight) so a 30sec. exposure is not much of a problem as there is little chance of blowing highlights. this shot is just so perfect (esp. the richness of the blue in the clouds) that i would love to hear your procedure and description of the environment when you sot this. i gotta try this out myself.

take care,
tom

Awesome shot - I can well believe it took two hours waiting. The color of the sky is just captivating...
Great composition - even though the actual composition was completely not under your control!

Nice simple lanscape hightlights the beauty of the sky and the power of the lighning.

LOL!!! Liked your answer. Is this lightning phenomenon a normal feature for this area, or you specially went there when the weather man said thunder clouds are imminent?
By the way where is this place? Man we gotta swap our hot spots.

Hi. Saqib...
It's a wild guess.... or guesstimation :)

I open the apert. for 30 sec. and pray for Allah :) for luck

Very furstrating because always lighrning hits to the opposite direction.... and when move your camera to the other direction it goes back to your former place and so on

regards

Saqib Zulfiqar   {K:2745} 5/5/2005
Wow! Fabulous shot. How long was the exposure, and how did you know that the lightning was going to hit at that exact spot?
Colors are great and it looks very surreal. By the way did you try to crop it in panoramic format.
