One of the hardest photos to get right,in my opinion, I grow them in my garden. I like the way you managed to get the edges of the leaves with just enough light to bring out their shape while keeping the background mysterious and dark.So dark but still full of colour. You need a good monitor with the colours balanced to do this photo justice.Usually the white of the lily gets overexposed when the light meter compensates for all round balance, but here you can still see the grain of the flower petal.Gives me something to judge my next attempt at this subject.Ian Pearson

quello che mi pių colpisce in questa tua fotografia č lo sfondo e la sua delicatezza, la sua discrezione nel circondare il soggetto senza disturbarlo...anzi esaltandolo fino al trionfo..... complimenti 7

Hello Pat, egg on my face -- you can tell I own a digital camera. I have often thought it would be cool to do a unit on the chemicals used in photography. I will let you know if I get around to it! Maybe this summer. ;)Melody

Melody:
E6 is the procces for developling color slide film
c41 is the color negatives proccess.
I do my own lab work mostly to save $$. I can't say I have a good understanding of what each chemical in the proccess really does. Or when things go wrong to understand why.

Yes, Lee Ann and I work together at DCS. We also travel A LOT together as will probably become obvious as we load more photos. I am not sure what you mean by E6 and and C41 chemistry.

This is so beautiful. The darkened leaves in the background really enhance the bloom in the center. Thankyou so much for your comments on my images Melody.

Wow, a really nice macro! So different from the many flower shots you see on Usefilm. You're really getting to travel in some really interesting places.. thankyou for your comment on "just a phase", much appreciated =) Kind regards, Niclas
