About A seldom visited part of the municipal government complex. I liked the solitude of the moment and the nice interplay of forms. In this case, I decided to forego my preference for soft colors and contrasts and pump this one up with PS. The result--kinda postcard-y, but still attractive.

Well defined and secluded passage and direction.

George, where do I begin? This is a great composition. The sidewalk and lamposts draw the eye but the sky and clouds beyond add a wonderful "natural" element to the photo. Well done, well shot and has a very pleasing effect on the viewer.

George,

'Postcard-y' indeed. The blue sky out there is inviting and gives an excellent perspective of the open space.

Nice one.

regards
ken.

Hi george,

I see what you did with this one ;-)

awesome colors and contrast, a bit weak in the middle tones but this gives the image the post card look. nice dreamy view!

best wishes,

thilo

Thanks, Drilan. I intended the comment to be droll. It turned out to be more provocative than expected. ;-)

Une sacrée belle ?carte postale? ; c'est drôle, ou bizarre, nos références négatives à la carte postale ???

Excellent decision, George. The photo is not at all postcard-like. It has depth, a good composition and the colors are beautiful, contrasting with each other. The post with the lamp on to ads to the feeling of depth.
Thank you for your very generous comment on my "Dreaming of Jerusalm."
Best regards,
Rafi

No, Mark, I, for one, am not at all rigid on the subject. There are very good postcards as well as very bad ones. --g

Larry--Yes, now it is official. However I draw the line at "to postcard," as in "He thought he should postcard that image." ;-)

Nice photo and point of view George! The sky looks nice! The high palms look a bit hazy for some reason but doesn't take away from the beautiful composition! Nice work George! My best...........John

I wish I knew why people have a thing against post cards. I would be really happy if one of my photo's landed up there. Almost unreal, Thought it was the paramount gate

What's wrong with postcardy (that's a word??}

I like this very much. Has a kind of ethereal feel to it, and the composition is simple yet quite engaging... The feeling of 'depth' is good too.

omar

Another piece of your tour around Charslton, and what a nice part this is - that sky is to die for!

I respect your preferences George but what you?ve here has definitely enriched the original image ? the sky (clouds), the walkover bridge? in the middle, and the foreground look clear, sharp, and amazingly 3 dimensional on my monitor. Very nice frame.
