I think this is the last in this series (at least for now).
This was taken at Cu Chi Tunnels, a tourist site with recreated Viet Cong tunnels. During the war between the U.S.A. and Viet Nam, Viet Cong lived in underground tunnels.
That day was a school holiday and these kids were on a class trip with their teacher. They got very excited when they learned we were from the U.S. Most English-speaking tourists in Viet Nam are from some other country. Several students had cameras and they wanted to take our picture. We compromised with the students posing with us while the teacher took pictures with all the cameras.
I purposely left the environment above the group to show the dense Vietnamese jungle. Immediately behind us is a hut that is part of the tourist site, as are the tables and umbrella.
We were quite shocked by the warm reception we had everwhere we went. Unfortunately our time was quite limited, so we only got to a very few places; we hope to return soon. -- Naomi
great story Naomi, this image is a real tribute as to how much times have changed. The greenery seems overwhelming, nice nature. -- Kind regards, Rafael
