Composition is there, detail is there, but nothing pops... what to do with it? You certainly answered the question in a very acceptable manner! Amazing what one can do with such things, isn't it? I took a peek at the rest of your portfolio and enjoyed it very much. You have some wonderful photos there! Thanks for sharing.

I like both versions, this one clearly has more bite to its geometry though, if only because the lines are slightly more accentuated by the increased contrast. Nice to see another perspective... truth be told, I would love to post 4 versions of every photo I make for UF, one color, one bw, one sepia, and one crazy. Heh. Thanks for sharing.
