I bet you can see a FAIRWAY from up there Chris. Notice the usual Spracklen hallmark is missing though. No BIRDIE. Perhaps you could add an EAGLE or even an ALBATROSS. Aw, these are puns are UNDER PAR and a bit ROUGH. I'll go and hide under a TEE CADDIE. Terrific composition though Chris. The cliff detail is so impressive. The figures atop the cliff give that much needed sense of scale. Den

What a magnificant view. I only golfed a few times. After the first 4 holes, I figured I had hit that little white ball as many times as others would in 9 or even 18, so I stopped and became the drink runner on the cart. So, golf is no my thing, but I'd enjoy the scenery. Mary -

I really like this image Chris. I see it as being superbly balanced compositionally, and light to dark. The textures are great too. P.S. Many Canadians get Brit humour. After all we were brought up on "Doctor in the House", "Monty Python", and "Coronation Street", all shown on the CBC. Oh, and for those of us who have reached the appropriate age you can throw in the "Carry On" movies, "Benny Hill", "The Two Ronnies", "Dr.Who", and "The Avengers". I never did get the point of "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em" though. Cheers.

Hmmm. Nice photo, but the puns were about par for the course. Japanese is a GREAT language for puns because there are so many words with exactly the same pronunciation (well, they only have 55 basic syllabuls, so there's no help for it really).

Groaaaannnnn!!! Don't give up the day job Chris!!! I hope you didn't sit down too long to get this shot... You'll have to Iron your trousers otherwise... but then you Wood n't mind I'm sure to get the right shot.... And a decent shot like this could be worth a fair bit of wedge if you could sell it! When you had your tees did you use tea bags or fresh stuff from the caddy? Did you go up the path to the top or climb the cliff? That really wood take balls!
Enough I hear you cry!!! (or was that Ade?) Well shot Chris... great composition and superb backdrop too... Love those clouds!!!

Now you mention it, Merete, I found that comment about the tower really funny! ) In fact, I especially pointed out the humour to Carole, who didn't really pick it up!! And, don't worry about 'offending' me ~ I'm pretty thick skinned! (Pretty thick headed too, some would say!!) ) Hugs again, Chris

Humour is usually based on culture...so of course there can be some problems there. 'The English humour' is well known in DK though. We mostly make fun of eachother when we have 'fun'...or grotesque situations... not that much on words. Like commenting on the birds look in Margarets shot...pretending that they were the Usefilmers...instead of you guys in the pic. Or..ignoring you in Carole's shot...and commenting on the tower..only. That's very much Danish homour, I believe. Sorry if I have ever offended you in any of my comments..didn't meant to.
Hugs Merete

Thanks, Merete. I'm just wondering if this kind of 'humour' really travels all that well! A lot of us Brit's enjoy plays on words, or 'puns', but I think you need to have a pretty good awareness of our idioms, as well as our more 'proper' use of language, in order to appreciate the humour. ) Hugs, Chris

No problem getting up there, Margaret ~ I've got a decent swing, so I drove! Mind you, it was a fairway up! Still, I had a cup of tees when I got up there. )
Just thought I'd get those in before Steve gets back!! He'll be green with envy! Won't know where to putt himself! Still, I've no doubt he'll pitch in! )
Best regards, Chris
P.S. One of the other guys kept a check on the nu,ber of blades of grass on the course ~ he was a Turf Accountant!!

You're going to get a right headache sunbathing on that shoreline one day when a golf ball comes to get you!
Super texture in that cliff face - the strong lighting accentuates it as well.
Nice to see the dreadful puns in the "About"......
