This pair of eyes belongs to my cat Gracie. She's an all black cat and I've never really ever been able to get a good picture of her. It doesn't help that she's very skiddish and hates the camera! If anyone has any suggestions of how to best photograph an all black animal, I would love to hear them.
At this point, some of you may be wondering just how many cats I have. The answer is 5--I guess I'm just a sucker for a cat that needs a home!
I agree with Michael about taking out the cat/dog equivalent to "red eye" out of the photo, but please! Leave the catchlight! It adds life to any photo containing eyes.
Nice, nice photo. All black/grey/white animals are hard to shoot because the autofocus/autoexposure has a hard time deciding what values are accurate and ends up getting it wrong.
Thanks for commenting on Joshua the Pest. It's really not one of my better photos but I love the cat (one of 3 currently in my "family") and think he has wonderful eyes.
this is a great crop...the only thing i would suggest is darkening the eyes from the greenish tint they are now. Also I would attempt to remove the flash from the eyes.
