Brazil; 1 - 2m Planting position: Full sun. Ideal for areas with high summer rainfall. Requires regular and thorough summer watering. Compost-enriched, moist soil. Spring application of complete fertiliser. Pruning after flowering. Watch out for attacks from aphids and scale insects. Propagate from semi-hardwood spring cuttings.
From late spring, and during summer, this rounded shrub bears large, purple flowers in profusion. Its rich green foliage is slightly hairy and ovate.
