I like your choice of black & white for this image, getting rid of the colour focusses all the attention on the fungus' wonderful shape and flakey texture. It looks like it is made from polystyrene!

The slight left lean of the plant gives drama to the composition. The diagonal streaks of grass echo the markinsg on the plant, creating a lyrical feeling. I admire the very clear definition of the plant's volume and textures.
