About having been pretty sick from traveling recently and spending lots of time in and out of doctors, i have affirmed my hatred of pharmaceutical companies, their tv and magazine ads, and their push to get medicine in everyones body. it's not always the answer, but merely a way to push away the real problem. recently i've been shooting an ongoing series dealing with medicine and drug use. all are shot in my apartment under natural light controlled by the window shutters and some strobes to add highlights. hope you enjoy.

hi dear curtis,
Great image!
A lot of work and thought in this one.
yes I think you could show the ugly aspects of the modern world very very real.
best regards,
mary

thanks for the comment. in this case i cropped as i did trying to split the negative space from the top, creating forms rather than an open line and unending shape. it would be interesting to see the piece cropped more loosely, but until i reshoot this isn't possible, i try to do as little PS changes as possible and post as shot. thanks for the comment.

thanks for the comments. one of my goals here with this series has been to take some of the ugly aspects of the modern world and soceities and to present them in an aesthetically pleasing way. kinda an oxymoron, beauty through the not so beautiful aspects of life.

Curtis,
Nice work man. Illness is always a manifestation of a larger blockage of the spirit. Pharms can never take care of such blockages.
Cheers,
Erik

I enjoy. It's very critic and like it.

Nice still life!

P.S. I'm also tired about the three (expensive) medicines that i'm taking every day to fight my allergy (without clear results!).

Good still life composition Curtis, like the arrangement of the props. If I may suggest to move the glass down a little more so entire top is seen as well as the bottle in the upper right as their is still room in the bottom right part of the frame. Other than that a great shot, get well soon, cheers.

By association, it's a harsh reality. But when I look at it from a purely aesthetic approach, it's quite beautiful.
