About There is a photographer on here that uses window light a lot with excellent results. That photographer is the inspiration of this shot. No flash, only the window light of a rainy day. Thanks for the inspiration Melanie R.!

Glad to be of service! The DOF if great on this, the window light is really nice too! I would like to see some with him (or someone else) looking into the light. Natural light really brings out some great detail in the eyes!! Do you have a closeup or macro mode on your camera? If so, that will really drown out the background when you are using bright light that is coming in from a window.... like when I did that photo of Hayden where he looks like he's praying... the background was drown out because the main focus was on him. Since you and I don't have the best model cameras, we have to use closeup/macro to get good detail too! LOL

Yes, Mel's got some great tips about using natural light ;)

I, personally was drawn to this pic because of the depth of field. Good job with the background being out of focus so the attention is drawn to the guy. I also like him being off-centered. Well-done portrait.

Yes, light is excellent here, as is the exposure. Just playing with the distance to a window that does not have direct sun is an interesting exercise in what you can get. Found the sweet spot here :-)
