Great title & idea. Esp that the one has a smiley face, representative of it having been a fun time. I also like the commentary along the way throughout your profile (pictures & comments). It adds a lot of insight to the pictures & places. Something I wish more people did at UF.

Thanks David. For me, the lens is an adjustment because I have to move farther away from objects to get more in the picture. But, I am coming from the most basic P&S - a Coolpix 2100. I am halfway through reading the owner's manual on the D70 (which is a big accomplishment for me since I usually don't have the patience to read those things :) It's just a lot to learn and working on ISO, shutter speed, the lens and all the math involved with doing photography manually. Plus ever since I got the camera (just a week ago) my kids or I have been sick, so I haven't gotten to try it outside the home really. Thanks so much for all your kind comments, they are very helpful too.

this is a really cool shot! again great eye for composition. That's exactly what makes a good photographer, to see good images where others see nothing.
One other thing, I saw you got a D70 and you are using a 35 mm lens most of the time. That is a very good lens and I have been considering a 30 or 35 mm lens. How do you like it. Even though it is a slight wideangle it has nice shallow DOF.
I had a D70 for almost a year and liked it very much. Wonderful camera! I only sold it to get a D2H which has some features I absolutely wanted. Quality wise the D70 is much better though.

Whoops 21 - ha! I really liked that movie but it's hard to watch anything with kids. By time you put them to sleep (and they actually go to sleep so you don't have to hit the pause button 50 times), you're tired and it's hard to stay awake. But that movie stuck with me (obviously not the title though!). We will check out that area sometime soon. There are so many places I want to go to now that I have a camera that will take decent shots worth blowing up.

Thanks! I couldn't believe the popcorn ceiling texture actually showed up. I've never been to Chickasaw Gardens - wasn't 28 Grams filmed in that area? I liked the camera work in that movie. I'll have to check it out sometime. As soon as everyone is feeling better, I want to take the kids to the zoo. I've been to San Diego's before and boy does it put the Memphis Zoo to shame! I like your zoo photos a lot.

nice perspective and nice colors. I like the texture on the ceiling. When I first got my D 70 in San DIego last summer I took a shot of the wall lol to see how the little texture things stood out. That is when I knew i had a nice camera. I see that here and the texture on some of the light fixtures came through well too. The one i am posting tonite came from Chickasaw Gardens. Have you ever photographed there? it is a great area of town and a nice pond to feed ducks. You and your children would love it
